Back in the kitchen this morning for a new edition of SDH, listen live here on the homepage or on the Soccer Down Here app (iOS/Android) starting at 9:00 a.m.
The Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League is always a wild competition, the 2020 edition has not disappointed yet. Cruz Azul needed all the stoppage time imaginable to come back to win in Jamaica. Tigres blew a lead to lose in El Salvador to Los Paquidermos of Alianza. Saprissa and Montreal left everything on the field in a 2-2 draw. Even the giants of Club America had a tough time in Guatemala, drawing 1-1 with Comunicaciones.
Two more matches tonight with NYCFC on the road to face San Carlos in Costa Rica and Olimpia hosting Seattle in San Pedro Sula.
Some morning reading:
* Great piece from Jonathan Tannenwald in Philadelphia about Don Garber's hope for big market teams in MLS to be more impactful.
* Thierry Henry turned some heads with his tactics in Costa Rica last night.
Song of the Day:
Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was born on this date. I wish we would have gotten the opportunity to see what kind of music he would have made later in his life. This is one of my favorites that often gets overlooked.
