ATLUTD’s Miles Robinson Again Named to USMNT Roster for November WCQs
by Bart Keeler Gregg Berhalter today named 25 players to the United States men’s national team roster for the November World Cup Qualifiers. Atlanta United’s Miles Robinson was again called up to represent the U.S. in these important matches.
The 24-year-old centerback has started five of the six matches so far and played every match of the 2021 Gold Cup. He scored the winning goal against Mexico in the Gold Cup Final on August 1.
ATLUTD left-back George Bello was not called up for these matches, seemingly replaced by Sam Vines of Royal Antwerp.
Unlike the previous windows, November only has two matches. The smaller roster size likely means Berhalter will rotate less than he has in previous frames. However, Sergiño Dest is noticeably missing from the list; he is out for the window due to back pain. This roster does feature newcomer Joe Scally, who may make his first-ever USMNT appearance this window.
Christian Pulisic returns to camp after missing October with an injury, which will provide the USMNT attack a boost. Right-back Reggie Cannon, though seemingly injured in a club match over the weekend, earns his first callup for WCQs. Also earning his first WCQ callup is forward Jesus Ferreira, of FC Dallas. He’s the strike partner of Ricardo Pepi in MLS.

USMNT November WCQ Schedule
Friday, Nov. 12, 9 p.m. EST, vs. Mexico, Cincinnati, OH
Tuesday, Nov. 16, 5 p.m. EST, vs. Jamaica, Kingston, Jamaica
Despite a poor showing in his only appearance in October, Sebastian Lletget was again named to the roster, as well as Cristian Roldan, who played only 21 minutes. Weirldy, Berhalter left off centerback John Brooks, who was noticeably poor in September and out for October due to injury. It’s becoming unclear what metrics Berhalter uses to select players, as on-field performance seems arbitrarily applied. (photo: @USMNT)
