  • 1981: The Chiefs lost 4-2 in Canada to the Calgary Boomers in front of 9,127 at McMahon Stadium. Paul Child and Keith Furphy scored for Atlanta in the loss.

  • 1998: A-League Atlanta lost 2-0 on the road in North Carolina to the Raleigh Express at the WRAL Soccer Center. Atlanta outshot Raleigh 13-5.

  • 2010: Sky Blue FC defeated the Atlanta Beat at the KSU Soccer Stadium 2-1 in WPS action.

News:

  • 1980: The DeKalb Extra section of the Atlanta Constitution discussed an upcoming Board of Education meeting where there would be a vote on adding girls soccer at the high school level and folding 8th grade boys teams into the junior varsity program. The expected cost of these moves was $65,000.
