The Hat Trick, December 27: Ricardo Pepi, Premier League substitutions, and Boxing Day results

  • Ricardo Pepi's departure from MLS is looking more imminent than ever, and Wolfsburg is emerging once again as his likely destination. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Wolfsburg is the favorite to land Pepi, and it appears that they will commit their January transfer window budget to making the deal happen.

  • The conversation about increasing the number of substitutions in the Premier League is getting louder this morning, thanks to Chelsea's Thomas Tuchel. "I just can say on this occasion I would love to push for five substitutions because five substitutions were made to protect the players when coronavirus popped up and made life difficult."

  • Lots of goals were on display on Boxing Day in the Premier League as Manchester City put 6 past Leicester and Arsenal scored 5 against Norwich.

Song of the Day:

On this day in 1969, Led Zeppelin's second album (Led Zeppelin II) went to #1 on the U.S. album charts.
