Atlanta United and the New York Red Bulls drew 0-0 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium after two back-and-forth halves in possession and momentum.
Atlanta started the game strong and were able to subdue the Red Bulls in their press, while creating big chances in the final third.
In the 19th minute, Matt Edwards fired a cross from the right side that found Latte Lath who got a head to it, but Carlos Coronel reacted quickly from the net and punched it out.
Alexey Miranchuck had another opportunity in the 23rd minute after a pass from Almirón. He delivered a shot that deflected into the back of a Red Bulls' defender. The ball fell back to Alexey who then tried a volley that bounced towards the goal, but Coronel got another touch to save it.
In the 36th Minute, Miranchuk delivered a curling cross from the left side to connect with Derrick Williams who got a head to it, but it bounced off the pitch and over the crossbar.

The Red Bulls slowly started to warm up to the game, but Atlanta held them to only 2 shots, neither of which were on goal. Atlanta had a solid first half, tallying 10 shots and six on target. The two teams were scoreless going into halftime.
The Red Bulls came out of the half more composed, with two subs being made for fresh legs.
Atlanta United's defense did well against the press from the opposition coming out of the half, and kept the Red Bulls scoreless, while also struggling offensively to get forward.
Edwin Mosquera and Noah Cobb were subbed in at the 68th minute. Noah debuted in right back, his first time playing this position in MLS play. Mosquera was put into left wing and Saba shifted up top.
In the 76th minute, Cayman Togashi made his MLS debut. Unfortunately, the offense was not able to give him any chances to give Atlanta the win.

Atlanta United lost a lot of their momentum in the second half, with only 2 shots on the board. Neither team had a shot on goal in the second half. This was Atlanta United's first shutout of the 2025 season.
"The first half [was] great, [it was a] fantastic first half. Second half, i think, compared to previous second halves, we were more solid defensively. We held a clean sheet, the first of the season. . . that's a step forward," Noah Cobb said to Jason Longshore after the match.

Both Atlanta United and the New York Red Bulls had their moments of momentum but ultimately, the two squads will each go home with only one point.
Atlanta United will play their next game against Inter Miami at home on March 16th.
