Back-to-back Team of the Matchday appearances for Giorgos Giakoumakis

Giorgos Giakoumakis was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for the second straight week after scoring his fourth goal of the season and assisting on Saba Lobjanidze's opener last night in Atlanta United's 2-0 win over Orlando.

The goal moved Giakoumakis into second place all-time on the club's goal scoring charts with 23 goals in all competitions.

His outside of the foot pass on Lobjanidze's goal in the first half is one of the best assists in Atlanta United history.

Giakoumakis will join up with the Greece national team this week for a playoff semifinal match in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying against Kazakhstan in Athens, Greece on Thursday. The winner will face the winner of Georgia and Luxembourg next Tuesday to play for a spot in UEFA Euro 2024. He has four goals in twenty appearances for his national team and will be looking to add to both of those totals in the next week.
