Unbeaten Philadelphia visit the Benz on Sunday afternoon to face Atlanta United

by Jason Longshore

Atlanta United hosts the undefeated Philadelphia Union on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It will be a big test for Gonzalo Pineda's side as they could be missing a few starters due to injury, but will try to continue the momentum after getting results in four of their last five matches.

It was announced earlier this week that Jamal Thiare and Derrick Williams suffered injuries in last week's 1-1 draw at New York City FC and would miss 2-4 weeks. With Giorgos Giakoumakis and Stian Gregersen both working to return from injuries, that likely means Daniel Rios and Luis Abram will be in line for starts on Sunday. Xande Silva will also miss his second straight match, and Tyler Wolff will be competing with Edwin Mosquera and Derrick Etienne to keep his spot in the starting lineup from New York.

"We're in a good moment," Gonzalo Pineda said after training on Friday. "The players are doing very good in the training sessions. They are doing everything they can, they are understanding the tactics, they are training hard."

Philadelphia has been dealing with injuries this season as well, along with balancing their time in the Concacaf Champions Cup. That journey ended at the hands of Pachuca on March 12, but it did not deter the Union in league play. They've reeled off three straight wins, two of them on the road at Portland and Nashville.

This weekend's broadcast on radio will be heard on Star 94 as well as the Audacy app. You'll be able to listen to the match commentary from radio on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass by choosing the home team radio option in your audio menu. In addition to Apple TV, the match will also be broadcast on FOX. Kickoff is set for 2:40 p.m. (📷 Madison Crews)
